is it ok to carry 2 cabin bags with one person 22 inches each, while coming to india ?

me and my friend are coming to india and have too much stuff with us .. i just want to ask you guys that is it ok to carry 2 cabin bags 22 inches each and 2 check in bags 29 inches each with one person . and the second one is i have purchased some elctronic stuff like 4 electric shaving razors one of them for me .. and the others are for friends . one camcorder , digital Photo Frame etc. one of my friend told me that i have to pay custome for these things. is that right ..

This is dependant on the airline you are using.

Usually, airlines will allow for one carry on bag + one “other”. This can be a purse or laptop bag, etc. I have personally stretched this rule enough to be able to bring on two cabin bags at about the size you are describing. If you don’t make waves there probably will not be an issue (don’t point out to the flight attendant that you are possibly breaking the rules). Worst case scenario is they will take one from you, make you check it, and pay an additional fee.

Regarding the checked bags, many airlines allow up to two bags of about that size especially on international flights. Some airlines, however, have begun charging a fee per bag. On top of that, there are weight restrictions not size restrictions. The airline will charge you a fee if you are over your weight limit.

Re: Customs – You must declare everything you are bringing home with you. Most countries will have exemptions depending on the amount of time you were away. Usually, these exemptions are less than $1,000 total. If you’ve spent over this amount you may have to pay duty (customs fees) on them.
