how do i format a memory card?

i had a alba digital Photo Frame 4 xmas bought the 4gb memory card for it
when i put the memorycard in my pc it says unable to format.
my son has tried.but we cant do it, i also have tried a different memory card but it says the same

the reason you cant format it is because it’s probably SDHC, which your card reader on your computer cant read, you need a card reader that reads SDHC.

to get past this, if the photoframe has a USB slot, you could use it as a reader by connecting it to the PC putting the memorycard into the Photo Frame and then formatting it.

make sure that you format the card to the same format it is already (Ie if it’s FAT format it FAT, if it’s FAT32 format it FAT32)

make sure that the card reader can read the 4GB cards, if you bought it off of ebay, it might be a dud or fake card. which there are many on ebay, fake USB memory stick and fame memory cards.
