When looking at Digital Photo Frames how do you no what is the best sort of screen to look at?

I have had a look at alot of them but am confused at which will display the best quality of photo. What would be the difference between a screen resolution that is like that 480 x 234 and one that is 800 x 600. Is it basically a case of the bigger the numbers the better the frame?

Essentially, yes. More pixels mean better quality.
There are other factors that come into this, but for us, the resolution is the easiest comparison and a very important one.

All pictures are made up of dots (pixels). Have a very close look at a newspaper, you’ll see them there, too.
Essentially the more pixels, the better the photo (although there is a limit in little P&S cameras with their tiny sensor – squeeze in too many pixels, and you actually make it worse).
Imagine being given small, multi colored blocks to “draw” with.
If I gave you only 20 of those blocks and asked you to create a face, you’d have a hard time making anything much. If I gave you 20 000, you’d be able to make a pretty big and clear face.
