Digital Photo Frame With Battery

Digital Photo Frames?

Can anyone fill me in on Digital Photo Frames please.. I’m not very technically minded!

I am thinking of getting one for my other half to have at work – the one I have looked at is 3.5″ – and these are the technical details:-

3.5″ Slim & Pocket-Size digital Photo Frame
Internal memory store up to 45 pictures
Display digital photos with thumbnail view
Slide show and viewing options
SD, SDHC, & MMC memory cards supported
User-friendly interface
Rechangeable Battery Via USB cable onnected to PC
Up to 45 pictures

Would I need to buy anything else to go with it? Do these things have a good battery life or do they need to be constantly charging? How do you get your photos from your camera into it?

Thanks ;o)

They are a great Present….. Especially if you pre-load Photos onto them!

They come in many sizes, but 3.5″ seems a bit small….. Better go for something around 7″ for display on a desk! (B&M in UK do one for £29 while stocks last, but not actually tested the product!)

Most will run from Batteries, or have optional plug in Power Supply!

In general, most will take an external memory card, or can have pics uploaded from a PC via USB cable….. It’s often worth buying a bigger card such as 2Gb as the display you get is much better… More Photos! You’ll get around 1500 or so to choose from, and you can create different shows for different moods!

Some have better frames than others, and the quality of image varies quite a lot between makes, so it’s better to try the thing out before you buy if you can!

If you’ve got a Digital camera, images can usually be transfered via USB direct with some frames…. others need to be loaded to PC first, then transfered to the Frame or Memory Card!

If you have a collection of Prints, they will need to be scanned into a computer before transfer!

Hope this Helps!
