10″ Digital Photo Frames
How large can I blow up a digital picture that was shot with a 702.9 KB file size?
I want to blow it up and frame it but the facility makes it look like a cartoon. I am assuming that 702 kb is way too small to get a good resolution at anything about 8″ x 10″. What is the max size that size file can be blown up and still look like a sharp photo and not a cartoon like image?
What you should be looking at is the actual pixel dimensions.
A good print resolution is 300 pixels (or dots) per inch; therefore, for a good quality 8×10, you would need to have an image that was 2400 pixels by 3000 pixels in size (or larger). You might be able to get by with 200 dpi (1600 x 2000) or even 150 dpi (1200 x 1500), but 300 dpi is widely accepted as the industry standard for a good quality print.
I hope this helps!
